belt loops on her shorts and tied it on
one side, and she’d tied the two
ends of her shirttail in a knot above her
waist. The gap between her shirt and
shorts left her belly button exposed. Jim
was breathless as he looked at her
beauty. He wished, as he admired her
long, silky black hair, that he was
twenty years younger.
Jim put his arms around
Rhasha’s waist and pulled her close
to kiss her. “I’m going home to
take a shower,” he told her.
“Before I go to the hospital,
I’ll come back for you.”
“But Jim, I want to go
with you.”
“It will be faster if
you take your shower here, and I take
mine at home,” he replied, then
suddenly realized what Rhasha meant.
“Rhasha, do you mean you want to
live with me?”
Rhasha didn’t say
anything. She looked like she was afraid

warmed the whole room. As Rhasha hugged
her parents and said good-bye, Jim picked
up his folded pajamas and said good-bye
to Thamish and Thasha. Rhasha held onto
Jim’s arm tightly as they walked
through the bedroom door. They left the
house through the front door and started
walking across the yard. Suddenly, Rhasha
stopped.
“Wait,” she said.
She released Jim’s arm and ran back
inside the house.
While Rhasha was gone, Jim
thought about all that had happened. He
remembered his dream on the plane.
God’s messenger had said Rhasha
would be an inspiration to him
