Field Of Flowers
Jim knew everything he was
watching on television had been recorded
earlier. The humming progressed from soft
to loud. It began to pulsate. After a few
seconds, the humming sound faded away,
then ceased. The vision continued, but
the television was gone. Silence filled
the room. Darkness slowly gave way to
light. The interior of the church was
visible again. Jim could see the backs of
the congregation. He heard singing, so
low it sounded as if it were a loud
whisper.
The roof of the church began
to ripple as though it were turning to
water. Within seconds, the rippling
effect stopped and the roof of the church
became transparent, as if a large hole
had been burned through it to reveal the
sky. High above the church, Jim saw four
angels, each holding back a portion of
the sky, revealing a window into heaven.
Within, angels stood in military
formation in front of the throne. The
throne room was bathed in light so
brilliant, it was like the sun. Streaks
of light shot out like spears, piercing
the sky.
Jim continued to watch as
the formation of angels descended from
heaven toward Angel Town. They drew
closer and closer to earth, as if they
were descending down the side of a tall
mountain.
He could still hear singing
as the angels came down to the
congregation. The church began to expand.
It didn't stop growing until it was three
times its original size. Each pew also
expanded, creating a gap between each
person large enough to seat two extra
people, and room on the end of each pew
for one more person. The angels descended
from the sky directly into the church and
slipped undetected into each gap. Every
person in the congregation had an angel
sitting on either side. Jim could see
himself sitting in the congregation with
an angel on each side of him. Between him
and Rhasha were two angels-one for him
and one for Rhasha.
