Field Of Flowers
A picture of the dining hall
flashed on the screen behind the
reporter. "The dining facilities are
located across the street from the
hospital. They feed hundreds of people
every day." She pointed to the area
behind the dining hall. "The
residents of Angel Town have a beautiful
park and recreational area with a
swimming pool and flower garden."
The reporter pointed to an
area across the street from where she
stood. "Angel Town has over three
hundred houses with paved roads and
sidewalks." A picture of the
residential area popped up in front of
the reporter to fill the screen. "At
night, the bright glow from a generous
supply of streetlights illuminates the
small community. Houses, food, and
hospital facilities are eagerly furnished
to anyone who needs them."
The reporter pointed toward
the Angel Town church. "Every
Sunday, residents from Angel Town and
surrounding communities worship at this
small church." The camera continued
to roll but momentarily went blank. When
the news report continued, the reporter
was standing in front of the church.
"Most people around the world
believe in God, but in Angel Town,
residents believe God performs miracles
for them. Are these miracles real?"
The reporter paused. "By the time I
finish this report," she said,
"I hope to show the world that God
does in fact do miracles in Angel
Town."
The television screen went
blank. After a short pause, images began
to appear again. This time the camera was
placed at the back of the church. The
reporter was facing the camera. The backs
of members of the congregation could be
seen behind her.
"Every Sunday,"
the reporter announced, "Angel Town
residents meet in this
simply-constructed, nondenominational
building to worship God. Today, our
television crew will sit in on one of
these meetings."
She started to speak again
but suddenly stopped. "What's that
sound?" she asked. She looked
around, then looked back at her
cameraman. "Where is that humming
sound coming from?"
He was just as confused as
she was. "I don't know."
