Chapter 23 - Page 325 - Field Of Flowers

"On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame. And I love that old cross, where the dearest and blessed, for a world of lost sinners, was slain. So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it someday for a crown.

"To the old rugged cross, I will ever be true. Its shame and reproach, gladly bear. Then he'll call me someday to my home far away, where his glory forever I'll share. So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it someday for a crown. So I'll cherish the old rugged cross, till my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it someday for a crown. I'll exchange it someday for a crown."

The gospel singers finished singing the first song and immediately began singing a second song. Jim began to pray silently that Jesus would speak to Rhasha. The skies remained clear, but something strange penetrated the air.

"Rock of ages, cleft for me. Let me hide myself in thee."

Everyone could hear a soft humming sound that rose in volume, then faded. The congregation was looking around, trying to see where the sound was coming from. The singing trio continued to sing.

"Let the water and the blood from thy wounded side which flowed, free of sin, the double cure, save from wrath and made me pure."

Moisture descended from high above the church and began to collect until it formed small clouds. People inside the church couldn't see the clouds, but they sensed something was happening. Millions of small clouds expanded rapidly into one massive cloud. The more they grew, the darker they became. When the sky was full of clouds, they began to push downward, toward the church. Music continued to fill the air.
