Lost In The Woods
"Don't worry,
Jim,"
the voice boomed.
"When you get to Africa, you're
going to take Shanha and her mother on a
boat trip. Rhasha, Jackie, and Simbatu
will be with you."
There was a moment of
silence as Jim tried to sort out his
thoughts. "Sir," he said,
"where are we going on a boat?"
Jim could hear a low humming
sound coming from heaven.
"Jim," the voice said,
"Reverend Morris will be asked to go
across the river and preach to a small
village. A few of the people in the
village go to his church. Reverend Morris
will invite you, Rhasha, Jackie, Simbatu,
Shanha, and her mother to go along. The
boat ride back to Angel Town will draw
Shanha and her mother closer together.
Shanha will begin to remember more and
she will want to stay with her mother.
God will draw you and Rhasha closer
together and take away your pain of
loosing Shanha."
Jim didn't know what else to
say. The window into heaven closed. The
vision was over. Jim opened his eyes, but
he continued to sleep. He didn't know if
he was dreaming or if this was a vision.
He saw an image of Rhasha at the
waterfalls. He was kneeling on one knee
in front of her, saying, "Rhasha,
will you make me the happiest man on
earth? Will you be my wife?" He was
holding a crown of flowers in his right
hand. Rhasha burst into tears. Jim
watched himself stand and lean forward to
kiss her.
The vision faded out and
another vision faded in. He saw a man
dressed in a white robe standing in front
of Rhasha. A heavenly rainbow hung above
the man's head. Standing beside Rhasha
was an image of himself, looking much
younger than he really was. He and Rhasha
wore white robes and crowns, and smiled
as they held hands. The people in the
congregation all sat on pillows made from
clouds. The man in white was reciting
wedding vows. Jim heard Rhasha say,
"I do." The man in white turned
to Jim and recited wedding vows. Jim
heard himself say, "I do."
