Chapter 16 - Page 224 - Flying To America

His multiple images disappeared, replaced by a new vision. The United States was crippled by spreading famine; Russia and China were also crippled, but managed to join forces. Their armies swept across the oil soaked deserts of the Arab countries. Many nuclear missiles were launched, and some found targets in the United States.

Time flashed before Jim’s eyes. He knew three and a half years had passed.

He saw a million soldiers from Russia and China, in league with the Arabs, converging on Israel. Death and destruction were everywhere. A nuclear explosion leveled an area between Gebo and Ramon, northwest of Jerusalem.

People all over earth were dying, many from lack of food and water. Law and order broke down; murderers, thieves, and rapists flourished. Jim saw people with numbers stamped on their foreheads or on the backs of their hands. Those without numbers couldn’t buy or sell goods. Anyone caught not wearing the number was tortured and killed. He looked at the number, and knew it was evil: 666.

Finally something made sense to him. He saw new Jerusalem descending from heaven. It came to rest where the old Jerusalem had stood. Almost immediately, healing waters flowed from new Jerusalem. Trees on the banks of a river each produced twelve different kinds of fruit. Of all the people on earth, only God’s people had survived.

Jim was drained of energy; he didn’t want to see any more death.

A booming voice in his vision said,
“Jim, be not fearful. The things you saw will occur some time from now. Destruction of the earth will begin soon after your death.”

Jim heard himself speak, but his lips didn’t move.
“Messenger of God,” he said, “what will become of Angel Town?”

   The voice replied,
“You need not be concerned. Angel Town is special to God.”
