Chapter
2 - Page 13 - Vision Of Africa
Jim
knew money very well. He had over eight
hundred million dollars in the bank.
Eight hundred million dollars would feed
a lot of hungry people. The continued
profits from his company could keep them
fed.
Jim spent most of the day
planning his trip to Africa. He contacted
the company pilot and set up meetings
with his board of directors. He sent his
clothes to the dry cleaners and made
calls to the US Embassy in Africa.
Charged with a new sense of purpose, Jim
was eager to get to Nairobi, to learn
where to purchase large amounts of
groceries and how to get them shipped.
Every day that went by meant another day
people would go hungry. Many of them
would even die.
Jim had never thought about
hungry people in the past, much less
cared. Now he couldnt make things
happen fast enough. He knew people were
starving to death and he knew he had
wasted so much of his life in his lust
for money-money that didnt even
bring him happiness. He felt as if it was
his fault that there were hungry people
in the world.
He spent the next week
meeting with his board of directors and
getting his travel arrangements
completed. He learned all he could about
Africa.
A week after Jim professed
Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he glanced
at the Bible lying on his desk and
smiled. Hed always thought
Christian people were very strange, but
now he was acting just like them. He had
already read most of the Bible, and
planned to finish reading the Bible and
to study it thoroughly. He loved the
Lord. Jim had never been happier in his
life.
His luggage was packed and
loaded in the company limousine. The
chauffeur was on alert and waiting for
Jims call. Jim put his coat on and
walked to his office door, then paused.
Something had caught his attention.
