- New Passion
He left Rhasha smiling
contentedly and headed for the bathroom
to shower and put on his pajamas and
brush his teeth. When he came out, Rhasha
hurried into the bathroom and took her
shower. When she came back to the
bedroom, she was wearing a set of
Jims pajamas. They were too big for
her and hung loosely around her waist.
The legs bunched up at the ankles and
slipped under her heels.
Rhasha, Jim
said, eyeing her, tomorrow
well get you some pajamas that
fit.
Please dont,
Jim. It feels good to wear your
pajamas.
OK. Jim
shrugged. But at least let me roll
the legs up. He knelt down on one
knee. As he rolled Rhashas pajama
legs up, he could feel her fingers
running through his hair.
When he finished, Rhasha
sat down on the side of the bed and Jim
retrieved a hairbrush from the dresser
and sat down next to her. As he began
brushing her hair, Rhasha grew pensive.
What are you
thinking? he asked.
Im remembering all the times
you brushed my hair when I was sick. You
were always so gentle and caring.
When Jim finished brushing
her hair, he knelt beside his bed, put
his elbows on the mattress, and clasped
his hands together to say his evening
prayer. Rhasha understood what he was
doing and knelt beside him. She placed
her elbows on the bed and put her hands
together. They both closed their eyes. As
Jim prayed, Rhasha listened to every
word.
