Chapter 9 - Page 117 - New Passion

Rhasha went over to talk to her parents while Jim talked to the other guests. Finally everyone left the hospital except Jim, Rhasha, and Jackie.

“Jackie,” Jim said, “why don’t you stay at our house tonight?”

Jackie’s eyes bugged out. “Did you say ‘our house’? Do you and Rhasha live together?”

“Yes Jackie,” Jim said, “and we sleep in the same bed, but all we do is talk and sleep.”

“Jim,” Jackie said, “you didn’t have to say that. I know how much you care about Rhasha.”

They left the hospital and walked across the street to Jim and Rhasha’s house. When they got inside, Jim noticed Rhasha yawn. “Jackie, Rhasha’s tired, so I think we should go to bed.”

“OK, I’ll see you in the morning.” They all said good night and Jackie went to his bedroom.

Jim got two glasses of water for himself and Rhasha, then said, “Rhasha, wait in the living room until I return.” He went into the bedroom and lifted his guitar from his shoulder, hanging it on a hook that was screwed into the wall. He put his glass of water on his night stand, took his shoes off, and went back to the living room.

Rhasha was still waiting for him. Jim scooped her into his arms. Rhasha wrapped her arm around his neck, and he carried her into the bedroom. He gently laid her on the bed and took off her shoes, then kissed her on the forehead. “I’m going to take a shower, angel. I’ll hurry so you can take yours.”
