- New Passion
“Would you be free
from the burden of sin? There’s
power in the blood, power in the blood.
Would you o’er evil a victory win?
There’s wonderful power in the
blood. There is power, power,
wonder-working power, in the precious
blood of the lamb. There is power, power,
wonder-working power, in the precious
blood of the lamb.”
By now, everyone was
smiling and clapping their hands.
Children were trying to catch the streaks
of light. Even the patients were
thrilled.
“Would you be whiter, much whiter,
than snow? There’s power in the
blood, power in the blood. Sin’s
stains are lost in his life-giving flow.
There’s wonderful power in the
blood. There is power, power,
wonder-working power, in the blood of the
lamb. There is power, power,
wonder-working power in the precious
blood of the lamb. There is power, power,
wonder-working power in the blood of the
lamb. There is power, power,
wonder-working power in the blood of the
lamb. There is power, power,
wonder-working power in the precious
blood of the lamb.”
As Jim and Rhasha finished
the fourth and final song, the streaks of
light stopped shooting across the
hospital, but the blue glow remained
around them. They still didn’t know
the lightbulb above their heads had
blown.
Jim and Rhasha kissed
tenderly. As they kissed, miniature stars
popped into being all around their faces.
When their lips separated, the stars
stopped popping. Jim and Rhasha both had
their eyes closed and didn’t see the
stars. They turned and faced the
audience, holding hands. They bowed to
each other and then to the audience. Jim
told the audience he and Rhasha had
enjoyed singing for them.
“You’re a good audience,”
he said. “Thank you for
coming.”
