Chapter

Promise
Finally Rhasha replied,
“As long as we can be together,
that’s all I ask.”
They kissed passionately and
held each other tight.
Jim threw his legs over the
edge of the bed and stood up. Rhasha
climbed out on the same side and stood
beside him.
“What are you doing,
Rhasha?”
“I’m going with
you,” she replied.
Jim looked at Rhasha’s
hospital gown. “But you don’t
have any clothes.”
Rhasha looked at Jim, then
she looked around the room. “Where
are your clothes?”
Jim was still in his
pajamas. Remembering he’d left his
clothes at home, he popped his forehead
with the palm of his hand. “Oh
no!” he groaned.
Rhasha smiled at Jim. She
looked as though she’d come to a
brilliant conclusion. “Hmm,”
she said, “it looks to me like
neither one of us is going
anywhere.”
Jim smiled as their eyes
met. “Sweetheart, I think I liked
you better when you couldn’t
talk.”
Rhasha laughed.
“Thamish,” Jim
said, “could you go to my house and
get my clothes? They’re hanging in
my closet.”
“Sure Jim, I’ll be
right back.”
Jim smiled at Rhasha and
winked. “Thamish,” he added,
“could you also go over to The
Factory and ask them for some clothes
that would fit a slender teenage
girl?”
“Sure, Jim.”
Thamish left to get Jim and Rhasha’s
clothes.
