Chapter 4 - Page 36 - 2000 Acres

Jim could imagine the future, with healthy Christian children playing all through these woods.

The car slowed as Jackie prepared to turn right onto a narrow dirt road. He sped a short distance down the dirt road, then ground into a lower gear and pulled to the right side of the narrow road. A large tree trunk lay partially in their path.

“As I told you,” Jackie said, “This road runs through the middle of the property. Soon we’ll come to a clear area that’s large enough for you to build a small community.” He pulled around the tree trunk and continued driving.

When the clearing came into view, Jim nodded. “Jackie, from what I see, this land is perfect. Tomorrow I want to check out the geography of the area and talk to the locals. I’ll let you know the day after tomorrow if I want to buy it.”

“That’s fine, Jim,” Jackie replied, understanding that Jim wouldn’t rush into a deal of this scope. “But I think you’ll take it, so I’ll spend tomorrow getting the paperwork together.”

Jackie brought the car to a stop in the center of the clearing, and they got out to stretch their legs and look around. After a few seconds, Jackie leaned comfortably against the fender of his car and gazed into the distance, deep in thought. His mother was in poor health, and he was worried about her. When he finally came back to earth and looked around, he saw Jim about a hundred feet away on the opposite side of the car. A light blue glow surrounded Jim as he knelt on the ground with his hands clasped together, deep in prayer.
