Jim And Rhasha's
Big Event
When they'd finished singing
a couple of songs, Jim suddenly didn't
feel well. He reached for Rhasha. The
blood drained from his face, and his skin
felt clammy. Pain shot through Jim's
chest. His left arm went numb.
"Rhasha," he mumbled.
Rhasha saw the look on his
face and knew something was wrong.
"Jim, nooo!" she screamed.
Suddenly dizzy, Jim lost his
balance and fell to the floor. Rhasha
still clung to his hand. She dropped to
the floor beside him, crying as she
watched Jim losing consciousness.
Most of the congregation was
standing. Concern dragged at every face.
As the doctor rushed to
Jim's side, Jim mumbled in Rhasha's ear,
"I love you, sunshine."
"I love you too,
Jim," she cried. "Please, tell
me everything will be okay."
Jim heard the humming sound.
It got louder and louder until the air
seemed to pulsate. After a few seconds,
it faded, then ceased.
"Sweetheart," Jim
said, "everything will be
okay."
He looked up at the ceiling
of the church. He could see a hole-a
perfect circle-burning through the roof.
Jim saw the window into heaven in the sky
above and knew he was having a vision. A
bright light shot from heaven, through
the window, and down to where Jim lay. It
formed a bright tunnel of light up to the
throne room of God. Inside the tunnel,
the walls sparkled like diamonds in the
brilliant white light.
Three angels descended
toward him through the tunnel. Jim could
feel himself ascending toward the angels.
They met halfway through the tunnel.
Jim realized his chest
wasn't hurting anymore. He couldn't feel
Rhasha holding his hand.
