Shanha Talks To
Jesus
Jim had a mental picture of
God sitting on his throne. He could see
Jesus sitting on his right-hand side. Jim
asked God to speak to Rhasha's heart,
whispering his prayer softly at first,
but as he prayed, his voice rose until he
was talking normally. Rhasha could hear
every word he said. "Father,"
Jim pleaded, "I pray everyone here
loves you as much as I do, and will serve
you from this day on. You know how much I
love Rhasha. I only love you and Jesus
more."
When Rhasha heard what Jim
said, she opened her eyes and looked at
his face. She knew he couldn't possibly
know how much she loved him. Rhasha could
see tears in his eyes, and knew Jim was
speaking to God from his heart.
"Father," he said,
"Rhasha and Shanha are the most
important people on earth to me, and it
would break my heart if I went to heaven
and they didn't."
Reverend Morris was still
praying, but at this point, neither Jim
nor Rhasha heard a word he said.
"Father," Jim continued,
"I had a dream that Rhasha and I
would get married. I don't want to be
with her just until death parts us. I
pray that we can be together through
eternity."
This was the first time
Rhasha had ever heard Jim say anything
about getting married. Tears trickled
down her cheeks. Reverend Morris was
still praying and Jim was still talking
to God, but now Rhasha couldn't hear
either of their prayers. She was saying a
prayer of her own. She prayed the way Jim
had taught her-she conjured a mental
picture of God sitting on his throne.
"Father," she said silently,
"please forgive me of my sins and
have mercy on my soul. Please help me to
understand how Jesus was given the power
to cause me to go to heaven just by
believing in him. I love you, Father, and
I know you're real. I've seen the
miracles you've done for us and I know
you do them because you love us."
