Shanha Talks To
Jesus
Jesus cried out, "It
is finished." He died, and the earth
shook. The veil of the temple tore, and
large rocks broke in half.
Jesus had hung on the cross
for nine hours before he died, but God
revealed his crucifixion to the
congregation within minutes.
The village people feared
for their lives as a black cloud hovered
over the ancient city. Lightning flashed
and thunder rumbled continuously. It was
getting late, so a soldier broke the legs
of the two thieves who hung beside Jesus.
He could see that Jesus was already dead,
so he rammed a sword through his side.
Blood ran down Jesus' leg, onto the
ground. A bright light flashed in the
ancient village and a white beam shot to
heaven. Jim knew the beam of light was
Jesus Christ.
The vision faded, followed
by the humming, the darkness, the rolling
clouds-all the strange phenomena that
signaled that the vision was over. The
African village came back into focus.
Most of the village people were in tears.
They realized the man in the vision must
truly be the son of God. They were aware
the vision would not have been shown to
them, if he wasn't. No one spoke a word.
Everyone sat and thought about what
they'd seen. Even the old man now
believed Jesus was the son of God.
Reverend Morris slowly
walked up to the pulpit. He observed the
emotions that held the congregation
captive. "The miracle you just
witnessed," he announced, "is
how our Lord and savior died. After Jesus
was crucified, he was resurrected and now
sits on the right-hand side of God."
Everyone sat quietly as
Reverend Morris prayed, "Lord God
Almighty, thank you for showing us how
Jesus died. Please forgive us for the
part we played in his crucifixion."
He began to weep. "Lord God, I know
everyone here believes in Jesus now, and
I pray you will guide us in the paths you
want us to walk."
