Shanha Talks To
Jesus
"No," the man
replied. He stood to leave. "We will
hear no more." As he left the
meeting area, most of the congregation
rose and followed him.
"Please listen to what God wants you
to hear," Reverend Morris said.
"I didn't come here to deceive
you."
Everyone continued to leave,
even though most of them looked like they
wanted to stay and hear more stories
about Jesus. Reverend Morris closed his
eyes to pray. Jim began to pray silently.
They asked God to speak to the people's
hearts.
As the congregation walked
out of the meeting area, clouds began to
move rapidly across the sky. The clouds
seemed to line up like soldiers preparing
for battle. Suddenly the sky grew dark
and the wind began to pick up. The clouds
rolled in like waves across the sky above
their heads. The village people cringed
in fear as lightning struck the ground in
front of them. Thunder roared. Everyone
ran back to the public meeting area. When
the last person sat down, the lightning
and thunder stopped and the clouds rolled
away. The wind stopped blowing. A hush
fell over the church as the sky
brightened again.
Everyone waited, prepared to
listen to what the preacher had to say,
but God sealed his mouth shut. He tried
to speak, but not a word could be heard.
The congregation heard a humming sound.
The congregation looked around, seeking
its source. One of the children tipped
his head back and looked upward.
"Look!" he yelled.
He pointed toward the sky. Everyone
looked up.
High above the village was a
window into a throne room in heaven, held
open by four angels pulling the corners
of the window in four different
directions. The village people saw a
bright light emanating from heaven down
to earth. A rainbow hovered above the
source of the bright light.
