Louisiana Law
Before Jim could answer,
they were handcuffed again and led to
separate interrogation rooms. Shanha was
nowhere to be seen. Jim saw Rhasha seated
in her interrogation room through the
open door as three officers led him into
his interrogation room and closed the
door.
Inside the room was a desk
with a confession form and a pen laying
on top of it. A tape recorder was placed
in the center of the desk and the
"on" button was depressed. The
arresting officer sat on the corner of
the desk, facing the other officers. Jim
was still handcuffed. One of the
assisting officers held Jim's arm,
pushing him forward.
Suddenly the third officer
sucker punched Jim in the stomach. The
force behind the blow lifted him into the
air. He bounced off the wall and sprawled
on the floor. "That was just to get
your attention," the officer said.
All three officers laughed.
Jim tried to stand up. With
his hands cuffed behind him, it was
awkward for him to get to his feet. A
strange blue glow had formed around him.
"What's that blue
around you?" the arresting officer
asked, frowning.
Jim didn't answer. When he
regained his feet, he walked over to the
officer who had punched him, thrust his
face within inches of the officer's face,
and, gritting his teeth, stared into the
officer's eyes. "Is that the best
you can do?" he snarled.
"Shanha can hit harder than
that."
The officer looked at Jim in
disbelief. His eyes kept sliding to the
blue glow around him.
God had surrounded Jim with
his protective shield. He hadn't even
felt the blow.
The officer's face turned
red, then anger overtook his shock. He
hauled off and hit Jim with everything he
had, smashing his fist into Jim's face.
This time God held Jim solid. Not a hair
moved on his head. The officer howled,
then clutched his right hand in his left
hand, groaning. The force behind the blow
had broken two of the officer's fingers.
