Chapter 3 - Page 26 - Africa Bound

He could see a mountain range coming into view through the windshield, and knew Rhasha’s tear-filled eyes couldn’t see the mountains looming in front of her. In his dream Jim could see that Rhasha was the only person in the plane and he knew that if she didn’t turn the plane, she would crash.

“Rhasha, turn the plane, you’re going to crash!” Jim yelled, forgetting this was a dream. “Rhasha, please turn the plane.”    Jim watched in horror as the plane crashed into the mountain. The crushed shell of the plane burst into flames and rolled down the side of the steep boulders.

Jim saw the image of himself again, sobbing. “Rhasha,” his dream image cried, “I love you.”

Sadness filled Jim’s heart and tears welled in his eyes. He couldn’t understand why the image of himself said he loved Rhasha.

Jim fell back into a deep sleep and saw no more dreams. He slept soundly for several hours. When he awoke, sunlight streamed through the window onto his face. The sound of the jet engines was no more than a low, whistling hum on the inside of the plane. The temperature was a comfortable seventy degrees. He was slumped down in his seat. He sat up straight, straightened his clothes, and hand brushed his hair. Then he looked out the window and downward. He could see the ocean.

Still tired despite the nap, he laid his head back against the seat and closed his eyes. Then he remembered the dream he’d had, just hours before. Jim was sure it was more than a dream. It was a vision. Jim could remember every detail as if it had really happened.

The young girl who crashed in the plane-what did it mean?
