Chapter 14 - Page 191 - New Addition To The Family

Rhasha always slept snuggled up to Jim so she had to find a way to deal with this new arrangement. She squeezed Shanha tight against Jim and put her leg across Shanha’s and Jim’s legs. She stretched her arm across Shanha and rested her hand on Jim’s chest. Shanha didn’t mind this arrangement, because it was exactly how she wanted to sleep. A few minutes later, Rhasha and Shanha were asleep.

Finally Jim fell into a restless sleep. As he slept, a dim light grew in his mind. A fuzzy picture came into focus, in the way of a dream. As Jim studied the fuzzy picture, it became clearer and clearer. The picture began to roll as if it were passing through an old movie projector. Jim viewed the scene of a teenage boy swinging on a vine at a waterfall. The vine broke and the boy went crashing onto a rock at water level. In his dream, Jim recognized the boy and the waterfalls.

He could see all the people, including an image of himself, running to the boy’s aid. He watched himself rudely telling all the people to go to shore. He could see all the blood on the boy’s face, and on his own face and clothes. He saw the blood running across the rock. He watched himself transforming into a transparent, glass-like figure as all the people fled in fear. His dream image prayed to God, and he could hear the booming of his voice. He saw the window open up into heaven, and the bright beam of light that descended from the throne room to the rock.

Then the boy stood up. All the blood was gone. The beam of light disappeared, then reappeared to shoot toward the hospital. The beam of light disappeared and the window to heaven closed. He watched all the people swimming toward the teenage boy. Jim knew, before they got to the rock, that everyone had become confused.
