- Rhasha Goes Flying
Yes, but I understand
why we cant.
We could go and sit in
the plane if you want.
Rhashas sadness turned
into excitement. She kissed him.
Could we? Ive never even been
close to a plane before.
Jim led her from the
hospital to the jeep, still parked in
front of the hospital from the day
before, and he drove to the hangar. He
opened the hangar door and backed the
jeep close to the nose of the airplane,
then hooked a bar on the front of the
plane and hand pulled the plane to the
jeeps bumper so he could hook the
bar over the trailer hitch and close the
latch. He towed the plane into the open
area in front of the hangar, unhooked the
bar, and parked the jeep in front of the
hangar office.
By this time, Rhasha was
already standing beside the plane.
Go ahead, Rhasha, Jim said.
Get inside.
He climbed onto the wing and
opened the door. Rhasha climbed into the
plane and slid to the far seat. Jim slid
into the seat next to her, fastened his
seat belt and instructed Rhasha to fasten
hers. Rhasha didnt understand what
Jim was doing. When he started both
engines on the plane she ;exclaimed,
Jim, what are you doing!
He winked at her and smiled.
I know how to fly a plane, Rhasha.
Do you still want to go flying?
Rhasha giggled nervously.
Yes, she said slowly, and
quickly added, but Im really,
really, really scared.
