- Rhasha Drives
This little light
of mine, Im gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, Im gonna
let it shine. This little light of mine,
Im gonna let it shine. Let it
shine, let it shine, let it shine.
Local people had heard them
singing on other nights. Tonight
villagers, mostly children, started
gathering outside their bedroom window to
watch Jim and Rhasha. They stared.
Theyd never seen them singing in
their pajamas before.
Jim and Rhasha didnt
know the children were watching them.
When they finished the first song, Jim
kissed Rhasha on the lips for a long
time. As he kissed her, the children
started giggling and cutting up.
Jim and Rhasha looked
wide-eyed toward the window and saw a
young black girl outside the window
screen, covering her eyes and laughing.
Jim and Rhasha looked at each other and
began laughing also.
Would you night owls
like to hear another song? Jim
asked.
All the children yelled,
Yes papa, sing some more.
All they could see of the
children in the darkness were a few faces
pressed against the screen, but Jim
guessed there were more than twenty
people standing outside the window. He
winked at Rhasha and smiled. He cued her
when he was ready to sing the second
song.
My mommy told me
something that every kid should know.
Its all about the devil and I
dislike him so. He only causes trouble
when you let him in your room. He'll
never, ever leave you when your heart is
filled with gloom. So let the sunshine
in. Face it with a grin. Smilers never
lose and frowners never win. So let the
sunshine in, face it with a grin. Open up
your heart and let the sunshine in.
