Chapter
7 - Page 97 - Jim's
Promise
Sara shook her head.
Thats not possible. That was
a little girl. Besides, theres no
way she could have recovered so
quickly.
This is the same
Rhasha, Jim insisted. I was
in her bedroom last night when God healed
her. Jim pulled away from Rhasha
and pointed toward her with both hands.
Did God do a good job, or
what?
I cant believe
it, Jim! the doctor said, looking
at Rhasha. Youre so pretty,
dear. Im really happy for
you.
Thank you,
Rhasha said, and thank you for
being so kind to me when I was
sick. There were tears in her eyes
when Rhasha hugged Sara.
Sara hugged her back, then
excused herself and went to her office.
Jim and Rhasha walked over to bed one.
Every morning, Jim started
with bed one and worked his way around
until hed visited with each
patient. A very young girl had taken
Rhashas place in bed one. As Jim
walked over to the bed and kissed her on
the cheek, memories rushed back to
Rhasha. Rhasha was watching Jim at a
different angle this time, but it was as
if she was looking through the little
girls eyes. She could see Jim
leaning over toward her and feel the kiss
Jim placed on the little girls
cheek. She could hear Jim telling the
little girl she was very pretty, and it
felt like Jim was talking to her. Rhasha
could feel his hand when he picked up the
little girls hand and placed it
between both of his. Tears ran down
Rhashas cheeks as she watched Jim
stroke the little girls hair with a
brush. Rhasha could feel every stroke.
When Jim picked up his chair to carry it
to the next bed, Rhasha could feel the
disappointment the little girl felt. She
knew the little girl didnt want Jim
to leave.
The little girl was too
weak to talk, but Rhasha knew what she
would say to Jim, if she could talk.
Rhasha knew the little girl loved Jim.
