Jim And Rhasha's
Big Event
"Sweetheart," Jim
thundered in a booming voice, "now
we can love each other forever as a
brother and sister in Christ."
"Yes, Jim," Rhasha
thundered, "and I just know that
somehow, God will show Angel Town we
still have each other. They will know
we're happy and safe."
As Jim and Rhasha stared
lovingly into each other's eyes, the
image above Angel Town froze. The image
of Jim and Rhasha hung in the sky as
angels in heaven began to sing the song
the gospel trio had sung, the day Rhasha
met Jesus: "Rock of ages, cleft for
me. Let me hide myself in thee. Let the
waters and the blood from thy wounded
side which flowed . . . "
As the angels finished
singing "Rock of Ages," another
group of angels began to sing a different
song.
"This little light of
mine, Lord, I'm gonna let it shine . . .
"
The image of Jim and Rhasha
slowly faded away. The angels drew the
four corners of the opening to a single
point and the window to heaven closed. A
humming sound could be heard. It
progressed from soft to loud. The humming
sound began to pulsate. After a few
seconds, it faded, then ceased. Clouds
rolled across the sky like waves across
the ocean. The lightning crackled and the
thunder rumbled. Then the clouds rushed
back toward the east and disappeared.
Everything went back to normal, and the
people at the church began to disperse.
Thamish, Thasha, and Robbie
stood outside the church, their
tear-filled eyes still looking at the
sky, but they were content.
Jim and Rhasha were
together, and in heaven.
