Chapter 22 - Page 322 - Shanha Talks To Jesus

Jim kissed her on the cheek and knelt beside the bed to pray. Rhasha and Shanha quickly knelt down beside him. Francis remained standing, but closed her eyes.

"Heavenly Father," Jim prayed, "please forgive me of my sins and have mercy on my soul." Jim thought about Shanha as she knelt beside him. "I'm grateful Jesus came to Shanha in a vision today. I'm sure she will serve you for the rest of her life. I pray, Father, that you will guide her in the paths of righteousness. And Father, I love Rhasha with all my heart. I love you too, Father, and I pray you will cause Rhasha to understand how Jesus is the way to eternal life. Jim now turned his thoughts to Francis. "I ask that you keep Francis and Shanha safe as they journey home. Bless them, I pray, and use them to spread the name of Jesus throughout Africa." Rhasha, came to Jim's mind once again. "Father," Jim pleaded, "please speak to Rhasha and show her how Jesus became our savior. In Jesus' holy name, we pray these things. Amen."

Jim raised his head and looked at Rhasha, hoping God had answered his prayer. Rhasha knew what Jim was thinking, but her feelings hadn't changed. Jim rose and sat on the side of the bed. Rhasha sat next to him. As Francis and Shanha said good night and started to leave the bedroom, Shanha walked over and put her arms around Jim's neck. Honeycup dangled down Jim's back. Francis paused at the door and turned to see what Shanha was doing.

"Papa," Shanha said, "don't worry. Jesus will speak to Mama." She kissed him.

"I know, sweetheart," Jim replied, "and I know he will look out for you and your Mama."

Shanha set Honeycup on the bed beside Jim and placed both her hands on his cheeks. "Good night, Papa. I love you."

"I love you too, angel. Sweet dreams."

Shanha said good night to Rhasha, and she and Francis left through the bathroom door. Jim and Rhasha climbed into bed. Without Shanha between them, Rhasha could snuggle next to Jim. In no time, they were fast asleep.
