Shanha's Faith
"Papa, Mama,"
Shanha said, "don't forget about
me."
Jim and Rhasha knelt down
beside Shanha and hugged her.
"Sweetheart," Rhasha replied,
"we will never forget about
you."
Jim heard a familiar sound
and looked toward heaven. A few seconds
later, Rhasha and Shanha heard it as
well, and they looked upward too. The
soft white clouds scattered across the
sky began to pull toward the east,
leaving the sky cloudless above them.
They could hear the humming
sound getting louder until it pulsated
with power. After a few seconds, it faded
and ceased. Jim, Rhasha, and Shanha
sensed they were the only people in
Dallas who could see what the clouds were
doing. Life went on as usual for everyone
else. A heavy, dark cloud had formed in
the east. The wind began to blow.
Suddenly dark clouds rolled in above them
like foam on a raging river. Lightning
cracked across the sky. Thunder roared
like an earthquake. The clouds rolled
back toward the east.
Four angels appeared above
them, off toward the east. The four
angels pulled the sky back in four
different directions, exposing a window
into heaven. What happened next came in
rapid succession. Two beams of light shot
from the throne room toward the northern
part of Dallas. Each beam was thin, like
a bright white laser, and pinpointed a
different location in the distance. Both
beams remained fixed across the sky. Jim
knew the beams pointed toward Jackie and
Simbatu, but he didn't know why there
were two beams of light.
They got in the car and Jim
sped toward the spot where the nearest
beam touched the earth. As their car
approached it, the beam began to expand.
When he turned away from the beam, it
became thinner.
Shanha was sitting in the
back seat, but leaned forward. She'd
remembered something Jim had read to her
from the Bible. "Papa, when God
showed the three wise men where the baby
Jesus was, all he did was put a star
above him."
