Pirate Ship
He gave Rhasha and Shanha
life vests and put one on himself. Now
that the danger was over, Rhasha and
Shanha began to get comfortable.
"Jim," Rhasha said, "I've
figured something out about God."
"What would that
be?"
Rhasha wiggled back and
forth in her innocent teenage way. She
gently nipped on her fingernail. "It
seems to me," she said, "that
God has a full-time job just taking care
of us."
Jim smiled. "You're
probably right," he said, "but
I'm sure he doesn't mind, as long as we
love him."
Jim walked to the wheel and
throttled forward. He quickly turned the
boat around and headed back to the
marina. He docked the boat and they took
a taxi back to the truck stop. As they
put the groceries in the truck, Jim
thought, If God needs me in
Africa, then I'd better hurry up and get
there. He
started the truck and shortly they were
rolling west.
Within fifteen minutes, Jim
crossed into Alabama. An hour after that,
they passed through Mobile. The
Freightliner continued down Interstate
10, and in less than an hour, they were
in Mississippi. Jim was making good time
as he crossed the Louisiana state line.
He took Interstate 12 and proceeded
toward Baton Rouge. He stopped in
Hammond, Louisiana, to get fuel. They
slept in the truck and ate breakfast at
the truck stop restaurant. At nine
o'clock the next morning they were back
on the road again.
