Chapter 13 - Page 179 - Tunnel Vision

“Father,” Jim said, “I don’t understand what’s happening.” At this point, Jim’s body began to transform again. His transparent body resumed its normal appearance.

When the angels’ feet touched the ground, they leaned over the motionless boy. Jim couldn’t see what was going on, and he was too confused to pray. He reached down to help Rhasha out of the water. The angels knelt beside the boy and covered him with their white gowns. Jim and Rhasha held each other tight.

The angels stood up and said words in a language Jim and Rhasha had never heard before.

While the angels were speaking in the unknown tongue, the boy opened his eyes. Jim stared in wonder. The boy’s face was healed and he appeared very content. Jim could see no blood on the boy or the rock. He felt his own face and his hand came away clean of blood. He looked down at his clothes. The bloodstains were completely gone.

As the angels ascended toward heaven, the boy stood up. When the angels arrived at the throne room, the humming sound grew louder. Suddenly the beam of light disappeared, as did the blue glow. A beam of light shot out of heaven again, but this time it shot toward the village hospital. The light was too bright to watch. Even Jim and Rhasha had to turn around and cover their eyes. A moment later the light disappeared and the breeze began to blow. The window to heaven closed.

The humming rose, pulsed, and faded away. Again clouds formed; lightning streaked and thunder rumbled through the simmering clouds as though a storm was building. Then they rolled back to the east.
